I've been with Trade Republic since I started in 2020. Great broker. Regarding the 100,000 € Einlagensicherung in Germany, that is only for your cash deposits. Your shares are not included here, they are not on the balance sheet of Trade Republic but rather with a trustee. Those are two different things.
Interesting on the 100k only being cash, I was sure it was on assets similar to DEGIRO. I've took another look at the TR T&C, the guarantee on assets is 20k? Also do you know if this is German specific or Trade Republic specific.
There is no guarantee needed on assets. They aren't with the company. They are stored with a trustee, so even if TR would go under, they don't have your assets. That's the case with all German brokers AFAIK. I'd assume its for all customers they have.
